devil's advocate

Hmm.
Mancebo was joined earlier in the stage by two other riders, Tim Johnson (OUCH-Maxxis) and David Kemp (Fly V-Australia). However, it took a while as Mancebo never let up to wait for them. "He rode solo for like 30km at the beginning, which was totally goofy," Johnson told Cyclingnews. "I don't know why he didn't wait."

"Then we rode with him for about 50km. On the second KOM he let me pull a little and then totally smashed it on the big ring and left us for dead. That was impressive."
I hate to say it but this sounds fishy, race radio issues notwithstanding. Timmer ain't no slouch (especially in the gnar), and when was the last time Mancebo did anything notable post-Puerto?

Props to him if he's clean, but...

Ah, what do I know? (A: nothing)

I'm with you man. Mancebo had great ride, to a deserving victory, but I just don't know. Let's see how he does today, but Mancebo + Rock Racing = not trustworthy in my book.

When I saw Macebo cross the line, my first thought was, "get that man to control, immediately".
